Crickey, what a start to City's hot summer cash offload bonanza. Welcome on board Gareth! A fandabbadozzy addition to the squad. ManTwitty's 'source' did inform us last month of 2 imminent top signings. Barry is one of them! ManTwitty is now a daydream believer. Tevez should be the next. Old baconface isn't going to be happy! This shows the planet that City mean business and this is only the beginning. Believe me, Benitez and Wenger would have loved to have signed Barry. The former having spent all last summer chasing him. ManTwitty is loving it! We secured his services even without any European competition next season. Our new boy knows potential, determination and ambition when he sees it. He therefore naturally wants to surf the blue waves to glory. That plus the fact that money talks!
Barry leaves Villa where he had spent the last twelve years of his career. By the way, the Villa fans sure are deluded. Some were bleating at their loss, saying - "Why is he leaving the mighty Villa for moneybags City? We've got European footy next season!" Well the answer is simple - Villa lack ambition. What happened in the UEFA Cup this year? Whilst City played to win but gallantly fell short against a decent Hamburg, Villa showed little interest and in effect gave up by fielding a weakened team and losing to CSKA Moscow. They may as well have not entered. What's the point of them being allowed to participate in the Europa League this year if they again intend to dis' the competition? Rant over. Back to Bazza.
The 28 year old midfield maestro brings with him leadership, international experience, guile, great passing ability, tenacity and a swanky left foot to boot! Our next club captain perhaps? He will give added balance and dynamism to our midfield by operating towards the centre-left. A beautiful relationship beckons with 'The Last Son of Krypton', aka S. Ireland!
Our new boy in blue and England team regular is sure to also bring out the branston in Mr. Bridge. Our first choice left back was criticised by some quarters towards the season's end. Unfairly I'd say. Robinho, who generally operates from the left wing and sits in front of Wayne, is damn fine when pointing (at home) towards the opposition's white sticks. However, ask him to provide some protection to our defence and something must get lost in translation. Barry can help solve this problem. This has ManTwitty thinking : are we going to now start playing 4-4-2 with Robinho as a striker? We're sure Hughes' thinking will become clearer after our next few signings.
Now then, who'll be next to ring the doorbell of opportunity and wipe their feet on the City welcome mat? My money is on 'El Apache' - the Argentinian defence terroriser. Though some may well say Eto'o, whilst others have wagered on Johnson from Pompey. Exciting times!
That's it for now. We'll shortly be reporting on our potential iminent signings. ManTwitty will be meeting our 'source' over the next fews day, who's already given some vague clues. We'll be attempting to eek out further info and will hopefully be able to spill some beans next week.
ManTwitty.
